Dear Sudhirkumar, yes, trafos are a tried and tested option to produce high power audio from low voltages. But the problems is, we have to compromise heavily on fidelity. The high freq cut off is around 9KHz.. suitable only for PA applications. but the added advantage is multi impedence compatibility. (tapped secondary).
No problem sir,it is for speech purpose only and you know better about the fidelity of those horn speakers. I welcome if you suggest some practical circuits.

A transformer with 120V primary and 60V secondary with the secondary driven by a TDA2005( http://www.st.com/st-web-ui/static/active/en/resource/technical/document/datasheet/CD00000124.pdf using the circuit in figure3) and primary driving your horn will get you ~20 watts. About as simple and effective as it gets.
