Default Transformer with no output?

I am looking at a friend's Arcam A60 amplifier which suddenly stopped working.

I have found that the transformer is only putting out a few millivolts on the secondary side despite getting the full 230 volts on the primary side.

I have never had a transformer fail before and wonder what could have caused it other than the windings shorting but what would have caused that?

Check the primary for continuity. If none, then Skinnyboy is right about the thermal fuse. However I've not seen replaceable types for many years.

Thanks guys - there is no continuity on the primary side.

I'll email Arcam and ask them if there is a thermal fuse as I am (or was) fairly sure that there isn't.

(I just hope they are still talking to me after that A60 Gainclone project )
