Default Nad 3020i Output feint and distorted

I have a Nad 3020i which has feint, almost non-exsistant output, the output is more a distant crackle than discernable audio. The output is the same on both speakers and headphones.

I have tried running an input directly into the main amp with no success.
The output transistors do not read short circuit and the large 4700uf electrolytics seem to test ok with a meter.

I have noticed that ceramic cap C227 has got very hot at some point, it is black, the pcb is scorched as is the neighbouring electrolytic cap C222 but this appears to be part of the phono pre-amp so probably another unrelated minor fault to look at later (the +28v and -28v rails measure ok). I don't plan to use the pre-amp section so I'm not too worried about that at the moment.

I'm guessing that this is probably down to caps but thought I'd see if anyone knows about this problem before I tackle the job of replacing them all.

Can anyone help please?

Check the 43v supply to the driver stage of the amplifiers. It is a common denominator.
