TIP35C + TIP36C
is a quite nice Output Pair.
Especially when make a Performance/Price compare.

They can do very fine in moderate to medium power output level amplifiers.
Say <= 50-60 Watt RMS

Note that the TIP35 and TIP35C models give quite different results... the only difference should be their Breakdown Voltage ratings, of course. But it reflects the fact that the datasheets for the TIP35 family from different manufacturers varies greatly, e.g. the typical hFE at Vce=4 peaks at about 0.8A for most manufacturers, but 0.2A or below for On Semiconductor; the typical hFE at the peak varies from about 60 (for ST) to over 200 (for MOSPEC). The Spice 3 models from ON and ST are identical (from MODPEX) but the datasheet curves are very different. The minimum hFE specs might be the same, but typical values for lots of important parameters vary.

I think that the difference in the models is more significant than merely trying to match different hFE curves (although I have to investigate this further). The TIP35C models give really bad simulation results for the SLB amplifier (huge distortion as it moves out of Class A), but the TIP35 model is great. Okay, not many people will be familiar with the SLB amplifier (Hi Ian!) but the point is that the different models make a huge difference to using simulations for some interesting amplifier topologies... not just a bit of distortion miscalculation in fact, but gives a totally different picture of what is going on. (What's the emoticon for "there's no surprise in my voice"?)
