Hi chaps,
I've recently been offered some sound techie work for a folk band, so immediately cast an eye over the equipment I have that might be suitable - they have nothing of their own.
I've a couple of amps around, including a Stageline STA-152, which is a 400w (presumed total) amp, and its the latter I'm inquiring about.
I'd like to bridge this amplifier for mono subwoofer use.
I have only a multi-meter, but so far I've found that the negative speaker terminals are connected directly to ground. Is this a good indictator that the amplifier can be bridged?
Are there any other checks that can be done?
I've a way of feeding an inverted signal to one side, so its just the power amp that I could use a hand with. I suspect it'll work, but I don't want to let the magic smoke out for no reason.
Cheers
Chris

That is what I call, "Tune for maximum smoke".Min load is given as 4 Ohms, and max output power per channel is quoted for 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm loads, so it should be OK bridged with an 8 Ohm (or higher) sub.
If it was bridgeable, as it is a positive selling point, don't you think it would have that facility already there?
