Does anybody know if the output transistors are the same for the hafler dh-200 and the leach amp? Or if not would I be able to substitute those for the leach amp into the hafler.
I've had trouble finding the exact part # within the hafler documentation + I think the originals might be discontinued. Anyway, I'm planning on repopulating the hafler boards + had extra output transistors left over from my leach amp so it would be nice to swap those in as well. Anybody know or have experience with this? (BrianGt maybe?) Thanks Wes

Did you look here?
hafler dh-200 rebuild I didn't read the whole thread but saw that Nelson was involved there. Not a bad place to start IMO. /Hugo |

In this amp was used Hitachi 2SK 134 / 2SJ 49 ( two pairs in each channel ). If you can replace it, you may use BUZ 900 family.

I looked into that, but Nelson seemed to be hinting at replacing it with a Class A type circuit. As I want to drive electrostatic speakers with this amp I don't paticularly want to do this. Just a simple repopulation with new parts (keeping the transformer + filter caps the same).
"If you can replace it, you may use BUZ 900 family." I'm not familiar with those. Maybe motorala transistors... cause I already have like 20 of these lying around... Thanks, -Wes

hi wrl,
afaik, the dh220 has mosfet output trannies so you can not use them for a leach amp....if you want to use the chassis and other hardware, you can build a leach4.5 lo-tim amp on that chassis using the motorola part that you have....is this your intent? cheers, tony

No, I already have a leach amp in a different chassis. I got a hafler off of e-bay that now doesn't work... stupid e-bay... anyway, it has good boards + psu so I was just going to repopulate. But I couldn't decifer from the manual what part #'s/brand the output transistors were.
Can I get these from on-semi? -Wes

You can be replaced with [ 2SK1530 in the place of 2SK135 ] and [ 2SJ201 in the place of 2SJ50 ].
