I got a bashed up R-117 off ebay... didn't expect it to work but after de-bending the chassis is 20 different places, it came alive.
WOW! What sound, didn't expect this .. Beats the pants of the Adcom 545ii and 555ii I got... it's so warm and palpable...
I am thinking of using it as a midrange amplifier in my set up.
I do not have the remote and want to find a way to keep it always on, since it turns on via relay (not 15a rocker switches like regular amps that you can leave in on position and when AC power comes, the amp turns on). In the R-117's case, regadless of AC main live or not, the sucker has to be turn on form the front panel every time (my other amps can be turned on by ACE 515's).
Any ideas?
