Recently built this new kit I found at Jaycar - based on the Panasonic AN7511 chip. No capacitors in the output signal path - 2 Watts per channel (7 peak), and all from a 5 to 12v power supply. It is basically an upgrade to their old 'champ' kit.
Sound is great, best to run some efficient speakers. Using it from a NOS dac with a passive i/v (100R resistors), straight into the power amp.
Only thing I needed to change to smoothen the sound a little was the 470nF ceramic capacitors which set the bass rollof. Changed them to 0.68uF paper in oil.
