Hey guys, I'm trying to fix this amp for a friend but finding it incredibly hard to find a replacement transistor for one that burned out. The markings on the front are as follows:

IRFZ44N
I ( diode symbol here)R 4 18K
6M OP

can anyone identify this part, whether it's pnp or npn, and where I might be able to buy its replacement? Thanks for any help

The other letters and numbers just tell you where and when it was made. But each manufacturer has his own unique code. Just make sure you get an IR (now Vishay), Fairchild, ON, ST or Samsung from a real distributor and you're good to go.

The Z44, (42, 48, etc) are in end-of-life cycle, and real ones will be getting harder to get. When they do this there are fakes everywhere. These parts are being superceded by modern versions which are better and cheaper.
