Default Chinese "Hitachi" mosfets

Has anyone on the board used them (either on purpose or not knowing initially that they were Chinese) and what was the outcome? Thanks!

You mean Renesas? I used some 2sk1058/2sj162, purchased from Tayda Electronics, in some experiments and they seem to be working well. I don't have much experience with them though.

Regards
Ted

Oh, in my country, all they're fake from Chinese. The price not expensive, about 4.5$/pairs 2SK1058/2SJ162. If you want original Renesas or Exicon, you must be shiping them, and they're very expensive, 30$/pairs ECX10N20/ECX10P20.

What I was speaking about, specifically, are the Hitachi power mosfets which are on ebay for Hafler amps, and how they work out in that setting.

Hitachi Lateral mosFETs are obsolete and have been for more than a decade.
Any "new" offerings must be fakes.

Please DON"T use anything except the real thing or real substitutes like Exicon replacements. You really don't want to burn those MC boards up do you?

Qua-co from Ebay is a good choice.

Quite right!! Anyhow, has anyone ever used the fake Chinese "Hitachi" mosfets ? They're not really cheaper than the Exicons but I'm just curious.

What devices exactly are your referring to ?
Finding parts that have the same pinouts as laterals but much cheaper ( so that you can pass em off as fake lateral hitachis) is quite a tough one IMO ....

Also this thread gives us a good reason to ask why anyone would pay more for non-renesas "boutique" laterals when renesas make the same ones that hitachi created when they bought the lines. Are the second source ones better in some way ?

There are some on ebay which are marked as being Hitachi but are being shipped from China.

I looked at the Renesas web site but wasn't able to find one which looked like the Hitachi TO-3's. Product #???
