I bought last month a power amplifier kenwood KM208 and found out that the right channel is defective transistor from 3rd stage amp up to the output transistor are all busted. I replace them all now the question can I set the bias current of the amp without the preamp? since in the service manual says that the volume is set to minimum. what would be the nice and safe approach in setting up the bias current of the said amp. Can I set it without the power transistor installed?
