What to connect to earth ground?

I would make a single signal ground node at the power supply and isolate it from the chassis (except for maybe some fairly high impedance connection for static drain) which should be connected to earth ground. This way the signal source can establish the ground reference for the active circuits with no current loops. Of course this means using the same isolating style connectors for the return side of the outputs as used for the "hot" side.

I would consider using the bridge-rectifier ground disconnect method used by Bryston (and others). The left-hand bridge is the ground disconnect, the right-hand bridge is the DC blocker for a toroid transformer.
