I have a XM-460GTX 4 channel car audio mosfet output amp that I found on ebay and would like advice on the input stage for the high drive input... it currently has .22uf input caps with the rest of the signal path showing 4.7uf or bigger. I am wondering if I can bypass these or use a higher value?
Also -- suggestions for IC upgrades? See the preamp schematic attached. Thanks, MFA Last edited by myfirstamplifier; 16th February 2013 at 12:16 AM. |

There is no advantage to be had replacing those caps with a larger value. As for replacing the opamps Op-amp Replacement for 4580 (JRC)

Wouldnt worry much about the high level input .. No point as the distortion from whatever is driving it will be quite high
