Putting the exact project details in the background until I finalize my plans. What I wanted to know is if there is a way I can integrate an equalizer into an amp I am building. If so how would I go about doing that?
You see, my ideal is a chip 2.1 channel amp that has a source selector on-board which would let me hook up like 4 different audio sources and switch between them as I wish by the push of a button. That I am not too worried about right now, what I need to know is if it is possible to build an on-board equalizer, how hard would it be? And would it manipulate the unamplified signal then run it into the AMP or get the amplified signal and manipulate it? Thanks |

You're probably not going to find a chip with a source selector. You can build one out of a TTL counter, demultiplexer and mini relays. Your EQ goes before the amp.

Yeah I know I won't find a chip with source selector, I plan to build that myself. I just was wondering how I'd go about making an EQ..

How many bands are you planning on the EQ?

Ha! I dunno... Maybe 10...
Right now I am still researching, I may not need an EQ after all but I wanted good sound which I could adjust |
