Default Studiomaster 908 false overheat?

I get random channel overheat messages (usually the right hand) followed by intermittent or no output. Last time I had this problem the guy who 'fixed' it said it was a common problem with this equipment. He seemed to do a quick fix and it was ok till now, when the problem has reappeared. Can anyone tell me the quick fix or will I need to go to a dealer.
