Amazing piece of time-travel there. Assuming ES10 is a single junction diode, you might have lost a bit of bias current on the journey though.

The ES1D's in my schematic would be regular 1N400* diodes, or simply two to three 2N3904's(or similar) in series with base and collector tied together.
