Hi, my NAD 114 preamp has always had a wee bit of a switch-on "thump" but it has been getting worse and is now a switch-on "THUWACK". This is regardless of volume control position but not present through headphone output. (Seperate headphone amp on these babys I hear). I'm guessing a dodgy smoothing cap or a faulty relay but have no circuit diagram (Anybody?).
I have resorted to leaving the amp turned on, or if I have to knock it off, making sure I turn on the power-amp ( NAD 216) after the 114 but obviously I would like to fix the problem at source.
Any ideas ?
Regards, Denis.
