The +8dBV is when direct monitoring is selected .. the dac i use also has a mic and instrument inputs with there own amplifiers and level control the outputs of the amplifiers route to an ADC and also a switchable option to mix the signals with the analog output from the dac. Used for lag free monitoring . i never use it so it is not important..
