Hi all,
i have some ALF08NP16V5 Lateral MOSFET'S. I can use it as replacement of N&P MOSFET'S. How to use this MOSFET for parallel operation. The source of two MOSFET'S are connected internally. So i cannot add source resistor for current sharing..... I am not good enough in analog design. So one question, what will happen if i move the source resistor's to drain????? You'll find you don't need the resistors to force current sharing. The lateral fet has a negative tempco so if one device heats more than another the current will automatically fall in that device. The only thing to watch for in parallel operation is that the G-S capacitance will increase and so require a higher drive "current" at HF. For static DC conditions the gate current is essentially zero.
