Default Are these 2SC3556 transistors fake??

Could someone please verify if these are indeed fake, or useless.

Put them in a test jig and see if they meet spec. If they fail at a fraction of their spec, their fake.

Unless Sanken have changed their package specification from MT100, you have what looks like an old TOP3 package on the lower 2 examples (yes, TOP3, not TO3P) The word fake hardly applies - perhaps "feeble attempt at a fake" would be apt.

Just as much a worry, the laser mark panel on the MT100 style examples is something I've not seen on Sanken parts yet either. Consequently, they may all be suspect in some respect.

Despite the constant warnings here about Ebay fakes, people obviously think that their chances of buying genuine and NOS parts at firesale prices are still very good. Well, how are the chances now?

It all comes down to testing, though. Without objective proof, as Tekko posted, it is just conjecture.
