Altec 9440A how does it sound ?

Is this unit as good as the best solid state amps of today ?

Any information how good its sound ?

WTB input transformers to the 9440A

Well, these are getting older so they may require some refreshing of the electrolytic caps and double checking the bias.

As far as the sound goes .... they have a remarkably clean and solid sounding bass.
