So did the Sumo.
Substitutes could be chosen, and the compensation changed.
JB say the bias circuit in the Sumo is better, and that a pair of darlington may be substituted for the MPQ6001.

Might be. The bias is supposed to be better compensated for temperature. The frequency compensation is for slower devices and you could probably just drop in current ON Semiconductor devices without too much problem.
A store I worked at sold Sumo, it was OK.
Frankly, the Leach sounded better.

Speedskater,
Can you post those?
djk,
I read somewhere on the net that Leach sounds great in the mid's and highs but has weak bass.Is that true?
Andromeda had some good reviews.

"What are those output devices in Andromeda?"
2SC1116A, 2SA747A
"but has weak bass.Is that true?"
No.
If you like warm, muddy bass, just remove the 22µF power supply bypass caps.
"Andromeda had some good reviews. "
Compared to what?
I sold Sumo, Nakmichi, Counterpoint, Adcom, Carver, Yamaha, McIntosh, Harman Kardon Citation, etc, etc.
My Leach sounded quite a bit better.
I had almost everything come through my repair shop: Electrocompaniet, Threshold, Forte, Linn, Mark Levinson, you name it.
The Electrocompaniet and Threshold had promise, the ML sounded much better after some mods.
