So I just inherited 4 100kva gradient power amplifiers from a friend. Looks like some pretty impressive components in there. Each unit has 500 Motorola mj 15025 / 15024 transistors mounted to watercoOled silver coated copper busbar.
My question is what can I do with these? What can i build? Where can i sell 3 of the 4 units I don't need? Any help is appreciated. Attached are some pics of these bad boys...

Sell the capacitors to people who like making Tesla coils !
That transformer is probably really no good to anyone - id expect its probably got a 3 phase primary. Still, it'd get you a nice chunk of cash for scrap.
The MJ15024/5's are still good for amps, particularly PA amps. Strip em out, test em.
Big green Vitreous Enamelled power resistors - measure those, probably good for dummy loads.
I was going to ask what the hell these things were originally for, but it looks like they were something to do with MRI machines. I doubt they're of any value for that application now - i'd expect modern systems would use things like IGBT's or modern MOSFETs.
thanks jaycee...
So I scrap the 3 phase transformers. Check. 2000 lbs @ .23 a pound... ill take it.
Sell the capacitors to Tessa coil builders. Check. Where should I advertise them?
Sell the 15024/15025 transistors individually. Check. I would of assumed that being mounted and water cooled that they would be better sold like they are? Your opinion? EBay?
Vitreous power resistors... sounds like a flux capacitor or something. Think they are worth anything? EBay?
Thanks so much for your help.

Those cabines contain several thousand bucks in parts, good luck finding say the resistors for less than 50 bucks each + shipping on ebay.
For the tesla colil stuff, goto www.4hv.org The rest, go on ebay.

Build a big bad amp with the unit intact like 50kW output capability into 8 ohms.
Sounds good to me.
But how many speakers would you need to wire up to handle that sort of power?
what about these other components?
Thanks again for the help. You guys rock.
Had no idea what this stuff was.
I attached a FEW more pics of other components.
Can anyone tell me if any of this other stuff is worth anything?
I also see about 60 sq ft of silver plated copper busbar.
The plating seems thick. Scrap copper or refine the silver?
