Marine Subwoofer capacitor

I have an amplified subwoofer tube on my sailboat.

When the music is loud my interior lights dim with the music.

I have a big old capacitor from a central air conditioner compressor. It's BIG.

Can I use this to help reduce the lights dimming and maybe get a better sound too?

How would I hook it up? It has a red dot on one of the terminals.

Is it possible for the capacitor to hold enough current from the music to give a dangerous electrical shock? The system is 12 volts negative ground.

Thanks!

Think about using a Super capacitor from a car audio shop. They cost about $50 and their value is measured in Farads not micro-Farads.
Like a car battery it's not the voltage that's dangerous but the available current. My friends had their 24 foot sailboat (J/24) burn-up while being towed down the highway, a piece of metal fell across the battery terminals, the arc set a sail on fire and then the boat.
