Dear all,
I require some help regarding my ML9 power amp which i am reluctant to have repaired through a service engineer due to the astronomical charges. My ML9 was purchased from the Netherlands (220v) for use in the UK (240v). The amp is humming even when disconnected from anything including speakers, its coming from the amp. Its a constant humming that does not fluctuate. From advice, My concerns are either: The amp is not set to a higher voltage range to cover 240v - i understand that the voltage settings are in range increments ie. 110 to 150v or 180 to 220v and so on. Is this true.? Can anyone help me set the correct or confirm the internal connectors settings. Or The transformer is not receiving a clean power supply - does this mean replacement transformer or can this be repaired.? Are there any other options which may be effecting this amp. Please help. Imster :-) |

how loud is the humming you get from your amp? How close to the amp you have to be to be able to hear it's humming? Is your amp functioning at all? If the only thing this amp needs is the internal setting for 240 V, maybe you'll be able to set the proper setting yourself. Why don't you upload some photos from really upclose. Make sure you disconnect the AC mains cord before removing the upper panel. Try to find out where the transformer wires go and take a picture of the boards perticularly where you see something written about AC voltages. Crop the pictures and keep them sharp and informing. One should be able to clearly see which options are provided. |
