T means transfer function modified to sounds like Tube amp. No T means the amp is a standard good sounding Solid State amp.

There is a reference to what series is modded to sound to a specific tube amp.

e.g. Silver 7T (solid state amp) is t-modded to sound like Carver Silver Seven Tube amp, etc.

You are welcome!

If you need more info, there are two Carver dedicated forums with an excellent source of information on the M500 and M500T. RichP714 in one of the carver forum offers MKII upgrades for the M500/M500T series also.

Besides the transfer function the 500t also has a power switch which the 500 never did.
