Default A question for the moderators

I have an older amp with a problem, I entered one of the other forums, but I'm not receiving much help ( or replies). I know there is a rule about using two forums for the same problem, and I understand why. My question is, how long should I wait until posting on this forum, assuming I can't fix the problem prior?

You have no other posts here, so you must mean a forum that is not diyAudio.

It is not allowed to post the same topic on 2 (sub)forums, but we don't care if you have posted the problem on another forum out there on the interWeb.

So go ahead. Post away.

Don't know what you are going to ask, but in my travels, I often see questions that are not well asked and so get little response. Or sometimes the questions get real specific, and I have no useful reply.

And one that bugs me is a thread title like "amp problem" or "a quick question" which I often just pass by. Make the thread title informative, like "Fender Twin Reverb blowing main fuse."

Default I did't make myself clear

I would like to post my problem on this forum, however, four days ago I posted the same problem on another forum. I didn't want to post the same problem as that is against your rules. So... I'm looking for a way to find help from the members of this forum and stay within the letter of the rules, as I understand them. If I read more into the guidelinrs, let me know. I just want to do things correctly......Thanks

The competition has begun.

Which Forum gets him his required answer first?

hm, crossposting is bad style and I don't like it. But why not ask your question? Most probably the nice people here won't chop your head off.

I searched here, RG1969 has only this post.

It seems he means that he posted to another website?
There is no rule against posting the same thing to another website.

This website calls subject areas (like Solid State) "Forums".
Seems like this is confusing, as most of these sorts of websites are commonly referred to as "forums"....

Go ahead and post ur question!!

It seems to me to be both polite and useful to mention on each forum that you have posted to another (and give a link). This means we don't have to ask lots of initial questions of clarification which have already been answered on the other forum. Some of us inhabit other forums too, and sometimes see that a vital peice of information may have been omitted (because nobody has asked for it) but it seems rude to butt in and divulge what has been said elsewhere - that is for the OP to do.
