opamp input protection

Hi
Anyone have a paper discussing the various methods of protecting opamp inputs?? I know there are a couple of ways, but uncertain as to which works best where.

To protect against DC, coupling cap. What other kind of protection would you wish?

Opamp often broken because signal input have large voltage(AC/DC larger supply voltage).
The ways simply to protect it is:
1. Connect input opam with resistor to current limit input. This way is not very good results but may be acceptable.

2. Use two diodes connected reverse with B+/B-.This way is very good results but diode may be cause noise, rarely used in hi-end circuit.

What do you ways to protect opamp?
