Peter,

the caps are maybe 10 years old cause I´ve rebuild this amp many times. They are phillips 50V/1000micro and are still functioning well.
For my Aleph 2 I´ve already ebayed 250 1000microF /63V and 100x 3300/35V so I still think it´s a good idea because theoretically it should be faster than one big cap (and looks good too). Although I´m not really shure I will build the Aleph 2´s after reading your "this is not just another Aleph" thread. With the ordered heatsinks I could also build me a pair of Aleph X........

Here´s another picture of the amp before the last restauration

heatsink

Flemming,

I have a question on your amp, since i have two of those heatsinks
looking like the ones in your amp. Are those in the pic for one or
two transistors per element (one heatsink is four elements).
Are there fans underneath (guess so) and are they running full speed
or are they temp controlled.

I have one heatsink for 4 transistors in total, in use in an old PA amp
i build long ago (fan at full speed, only 100W, no temp raise at all :->)
and i have another one with 8 transistors total (2 per element) doing nothing.
I am looking if i can use the heatsink for an aleph ?, but i don't want a loud fan..
I think it is not enough..

Thanks,

Guido B.
