Anyone have a reliable source for service manuals? The receiver is a good condition Harmon Kardon hk 560. The power supply fuses blow when powered up. The thing sounded sweet when I heard it a week ago. The person who had it said they think they wired the speakers up wrong and blew fuses. So they gave it to me and I want to fix it.

The power amp section is single stage complimentary BJT (2SD588A/2SB618A) and I was told the speaker terminals were shorted together. I have found options for replacement transistors. What is my first steps in replacing these? I'm sure that there is a possibility that more components have also failed when the fuse blew. Thanks

Sorry, I forgot the link.
I have one of these units sitting in my "to be fixed" stack, its been there for several years, have no idea whats wrong with it as it was given to me. Harman/Kardon HK560 Service Manual free download, schematics, datasheets, eeprom bins, pcb, repair info for test equipment and electronics Here is a link to where I just found the manual, it is a multi part RAR file. Look for where it says Multipart: 0 1, click on the 0 to get the first part, and further down the page click on where it says "Download >> To download the file, please, click here ! << Download" for the second part. save them both to the same dir and open with winrar. Good luck. |

Thanks Livi4
I was able to download the schematic and open the rar file. Thank you very much. I'm looking at replacing the complimentary outputs on both channels with a TO-220 case style since it is the same leg spacing and order. I'll just have to drill and tap a mounting screw hole for each. So far the closest device I've found is the STMicroelectronics BD911/912 from Mouser. I will also replace the driver transistors (2SD667A/2SB647A) while I'm in there. I'll let you know how it all turns out. Regards
