It could be that this is an A1 Final, which according to Mark Hennessy, is really a B200 with an opamp input stage driving lateral MOSFET outputs. In that case they used BUZ900/905 MOSFETs. What does the PCB say near the outputs?
This means an other P-170 version ?? - go to post #59 about
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/59808-musical-fidelity-p170-power-amp-6.html
obviously yes - go to
http://www.mhennessy1.f9.co.uk/mf_a1/others.htm#final
SML-Logo on the there showed BUZ900 means Semelab - I think.
BTW - in my last post there is a high resolution pdf schematic (own drawing) of the P170

Hello,
I have an old Musical Fidelity A1 and I have to replace transistors SM8610 and SM8605. Does anybody know what I can take instead ?
Thank you very much,
Stavrolus

Those are probably the date codes not the type number
Originals are actually 2N3055 and MJ2955 marked as A1N and A1p
MJ15003 and MJ15004 can be used as an improvement.
