Smile Switch to run a pair of speakers from 2 amps

Hello there. I need to run a pair of floorstanders from 2 amps (not at the same time) and be able to switch between the 2 so as not to cause damage to either amp. I think Beresford market something like this.

Does anybody know of a kit that will enable me to do this, please?

Regards,

Les G

id use one of those powersaving outletbars, on your secundary amp.
it got a relay funktion. then You culd set it up so when you turn on amp2 it will automaticly drag an relay, switching the speakers from amp1 to amp2.

If it is only the amplifier outputs you wish to swap, any speaker protection relay kit will have changeover contacts that can be used for this. You only need to ensure that any DC protection circuit is disabled and it triggers simply from applying the rated relay coil voltage of 12, 24V etc,

Simpler still, use just one basic DPDT switch. With a high current rating like 15 amps, these are just as effective a solution and needs no extra parts or power.
If that is all too hard to look for, electrical power switches are just as good if DPDT (Double pole - Double throw) as you require. You may even see a suitable plastic box to mount it in if that is necessary.

Brilliant. Thank you all for your suggestions. Definitely food for thought. I'll get my thinking cap on and see which design fits my setup best.

Thanks again
