Having gotten a PS Audio 5.5 and 100C system with Spica TC-50's out of storage after eleven years, I am in the process of tuning up the system. An old review of the PS Audio 100C amplifier has a manufacturer's reply that the amp was sensitive to speaker cables. Does anyone have any recommendations or good/bad experiences with this amp? Anything I can do to tweak this amp? The design is noted for no capacitors in the signal path, and what is installed is visually ok, and the power supply capacitors seem to keep the voltage from dipping while playing.
So far after working on speaker placement, speaker crossover rebuild and cleaning all the system connections the system sounds very good. Just curious about if anymore gains can be made in sound quality. |
