I have a realistic STA-77 that unfortunately had the fuse replaced with what looks to be a paperclip. I bought this particular Class-A amplifier because I particularly like the EQ on this amplifier. It's a Class A rated at 35 WPC. The output transistors (and likely the circuits leading up to them, with the exception of the equalizer circuit) are toast, but the preamp and tone controls (and EQ) are still good.
Cutting to the chase, I'm interested in dropping lm3875s (with a resistor circuit and separate power supply) into the output stage.

I would like to know if this is a good idea?

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time,
