Last update from Roberto was not soooo great. There is a slight design issue with the regulated section for the LME because too high a voltage (not a problem on the original DPS-600 design). Roberto, Owen and qusp are working on it, they know what they doing and it is solvable. Unfortunately it means for us all more patience, I guess qusp will tell us more soon.
Some units have been built, we don't know how many yet.

Hi John,
take this opportunity to inform the other.
All the DPS-600 are prepared as in the pictures (some with black matte-Power Unit). The final problem with regulators lm317/337, definitely maybe from exhaustion, I forgot the damn diode (this have two function in this case) , which is especially necessary when LM317, working above 40V.
All know that the DPS-600 did not provide the regulated output lme for standard version). it is a stupid circuit, but .. is perfect for wasting time. A few days ago, I asked for help and opc qusp, I want to thank them for immediate availability. this diode arrives Monday (bought on Distrelec), in the meantime I'll have to remove all heatsinks (some already removed). I understand well, the delay for delivery. frankly, it was folly for me considering the time required .. but the first reason that prompted me to offer these DPS-600, is not money but to introduce these new SMPS that have nothing conventional SMPS. certainly the money helps. I can reassure some who can also count on a refund from paypal independent. (if someone will not be happy with this purchase).

Regards

Hi Roberto,
I was so worried it had been lost I now understand there are still a few problems to sort that's fine but please can you send pms with tracking info when the time comes so I will know when to panic. I am happy to wait and understand that you are trying to get the LM317 and LM 337 to do things they never were designed to do.
Sorting out unforeseen consequences are what makes life worth living and you are nearly there well done! John

The DPS-600, despite its compactness, has a certain complexity compared to a conventional SMPS (number of components) 68 discrete, 80 smd.
This SMPS has been in production since 2009 (as printed on the pcb) even in very special area (no audio) so it is well tested.
Changes to the Wire Amp were:
time / current at startup. Now tested with 2-sec 500mA bias.
Change to 100v smd caps and SCHOTTKY BARRIER RECTIFIER to Implement.
Trafo: remove link for driver voltage (class D) and rewiring link for lme voltage. no other changes were made from original version.
---------------
Between 8 days, coming from services, 30pz DPS-600, 50pz dps-500, completely ready for the amp wire. hahaha .. now ready to come, it will be hard to find other customers, perhaps it is easier for the DPS-500 (which can operate at 110).
Fortunately, is possible vary the output voltage..

Roberto,

I think there must be a few people watching for our feedback first and not taking any risk yet, because of $$$. As soon as we build the amps with your DPS, if it's good, we will tell everybody and you might well get more orders. You can count on us for that, but we are also counting on you to deliver soon.
we have a deal?

Thank everyone for the patience you have shown. The shipping date is now in the new week. I'm working to get everything ready, just in order to mount the diode when it arrives. Thanks for your cooperation on other orders of the SMPS. I know that the "wire amp" are over, so I doubt it.
...Should I build an amp in class AB for this? ...Owen...I joke

Roberto, I guess there are 110V people who might still be interested and the way these things tend to go is that people don't all build immediately so some may have held off with the initial idea of waiting for later rounds that were initially an option.

you just have to look at the thread to see that not many amps out of a couple hundred PCBs have been built. I have 4 other channels myself. Its pretty new tech for Class AB there will still be even 230v countries with people waiting for feedback and almost certainly 110v. for sure I probably wont shut up about the thing once its here =)

I can confirm that Roberto approached me to help him get through a head blockage =) my response was confirmed by opc as being on target and Roberto made the order for the diodes that are not really required for the comparatively low dps600 aux supply and thus are missing. so its all happening, just a little longer; its certainly not a design fault, completely solvable.

Roberto, dont put it all on the diodes, also remember to start with the voltage set as high as it will go and adjust down to be sure you dont have too high differential between Vin and Vout.

i'm sure many are thankful for the update, thanks.

lol 'stupid time wasting circuit', I guess you are not feeling the love for the regulator by now Roberto? why ever not? haha

Hi all,
..Well, just a sign of life
18 DPS-600 are ready then ship Monday.
I follow GB list criteria for start ship.
today later i return in office for packages and ticket, create photos and put in thread.
Rest of dps-600 need only diode(on regulators) and heatsink , I think two days.

Regards
