Hard to say. This amp doesn't appear to have any SOA protection for the output devices. And the output devices aren't complementary, so that's generally means compromised performance. I'm guessing a LM3886 chip amp would vastly outperform it, cost less to build, and survive errors like shorted speaker cables.

If you are going to build an amp, you might as well use modern components...
Judging by the +20V power supply it's not going to be hugely powerful. |

A simple and typical LIN topology amplifier.
Added features: CCS tail for the LTP CCS load for VAS Complementary drivers Quasi complementary NPN outputs. This will work as a basic low power amplifier. It will teach one a lot about how a simple LIN amp goes together. It can be used as the basis for extended experiments on other features that can be added to improve performance and reliability. I see the circuit as educational rather than music reproducing. |
