Sony STR-VX750 no audio & no volume control

Hello and thanks in advance for any assistance,

I just received an eBay purchase (yes, I know I took a gamble... but I got my money back and they don't want the unit returned). When the unit arrived, the packaging was terrible, and there was a dent on the bottom left of the front bezel near the headphone jack. I choose to believe the good in people and this unit was working when it left the warehouse.

I read a few other posts here, but they only seemed partially relevant. I apologize if this post is redundant.

The unit powers on, and doesn't make any unusual noises that I can tell. There is only one fuse that I found and it is not blown. I can change input and output sources. I can tune FM/AM stations. I am unable to change the volume, mute (-20db), or hear any audio from working speakers or headphones.

I have a good background in electronics, soldering and computers, but not specifically with audio systems. I could start measuring voltages, but I am not 100% sure what I am looking at here. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
