Hi,
Advice for modernisation the Krell KSA 100 with new Motorola Transistors Mj 15024/ 15025. My old Transistors in the KSA 100 are defect. My electronics engineer will the Motorola MJ 15024/15025 to build in. Can he the driver transistors MJE 15031/15030 with the MJ 15024/15025 to share? Is the sound with Motorola MJ 15024/15025 and MJE 15031/15030 for KSA 100 good? Can I 5 Watt metal-resistors for the old 1ohm wire-resistors to integrate. I will the cables in the KSA 100 to change. What can I for cables from driver-board to the transistors (it´s 1,5mm2) and the RCA cable will I to change ? The must his 105 C hot resistent. For the answers very best thanks. By by Alex Helge |

Please stop using translation programs. Your post is hard to read like this. Better ask a friend to check or speak german and explain you don't speak english.
Please leave the original Dale resistors where they are or are they defective ? In that case replace them by the original types or followups from Dale.

Hello Jean Paul
Many thanks for his answer. The metal-film resistor are better for sound or not ? The dale resistors damp the tone or ? Best regards Alex |

Hi Alex,
Better use MJ21193 and MJ21194 for the ouput transistors. MJ15030 and MJ15031 for drivers are OK. You need heatresistant cable? Best use tefloncoated. Pay attention to the securing of the outputtransistors, these get very hot in this class A design. MJ21193 and MJ21194 are used in the Ampzilla 2000. The suggestion came from James Bongiorno maker of the beast. www.ampzilla2000.com Also check predrivers and emittorresistors, protection circuit and ALL diodes! ![]() Good luck!

www.google.com !!!
google for: dale+resistors+euro http://www.diyparadiso.com has them so it seems... I would use teflon coated heat resistant coax cable as used in RF equipment/airplanes. Since I have that in stock I only use that. Unfortunately I have only enough for my own needs but what length do you need ?

I have exactly the sort of cable jean-paul has mentioned (it`s even 2 conductors + shield - so it`s good for balanced interconnects too!). You can have anything from just a meter to several dozens of meters - I have enough of it and I wouldn`t charge You much (usually this stuff is not only hard to get but also quite expensive). Just email me in case You need something.

Alex,
If i was you, I would send the amp to krell service for repair. You could play with it to a point of no return, but if you want to get this amp up and running again, take it to Krell. It`s a very good amp,One of the best... Good luck. |
