I have no need for all 3000....hmmm wait a minute...Didn't Pass do something with 1000 fets??? hmmmm I wonder how big of a board I would need for 2 channels of 1000 fets each??

They are only 20Vds.
Might be useful for pre-amp applications or cascode IPS, or even a nice quiet cascode CCS.
SOT23 is nothing to solder, try SOT563 or SOT923.
In the photo, the devices in yellow are SOT563 duel mosfets...the VAS for this amp. You can see SOT923 at the top right, between the grey film cap and the 4.7K 1/2W resistor.
I like using those small parts because they save much PCB space allowing for a tighter layout. You have to watch Pd with SMDs, in the case of the SOT563 mosfets Pd=100mW, 50mW for each element.
