I am having a problem with my Onkyo M-508 amp. A long time ago I had the caps replaced (made an oily gooey mess. No problems since then. But today when I turned it on it made a clicking sound, repeatedly, with a few pauses in between, slow clicks then fast-- before turning it off I played a cd-- the signal cut in and out. I unplugged everything to keep from damaging the amp. Does this sound like a cap problem or a relay problem. The meters light up orange, then go to green as normal-- but then the clicking starts. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
You can get a copy of the service manual at Onkyo M-508 | Owners Manual, Service Manual, Schematics, Free Download | HiFi Engine
I took a quick look and there are several relays that could be giving you this problem.
Goooooooooooooooood luck!!!!
