Got myself a DH-200 in good condition all stock and don't want to do any extensive mods but will eventually change the electrolytics.
I already changed the 10uf input with polypropylene caps and the difference is like night and day but here is an interesting find that I hope someone with more knowledge can explain to me..... I tried bypassing the the big blue caps starting out with .5uf and there was a very slight change, more open sound with a little more depth but then as I started to go higher with the polypropylene caps the sound was getting more dimensional, when I got up to 3uf the sound was even deeper but now it was very soft and the bass got weaker almost like the amp was running out of power to deliver the bass. I know by now many of you are thinking this is just my very own placebo effect taking over but I know my ears were not deceiving me and these are findings that I have done on this particular amp only. Would love to hear some comments if you've had the same experience or as to why this happens. Gil |

The bass sounds tighter with the main caps bypassed.
I use values between 22µ~100µF. "I already changed the 10uf input with polypropylene caps and the difference is like night and day" Don't forget to bypass the cap in the feedback loop to ground (C5).

[QUOTE=djk;2650552]The bass sounds tighter with the main caps bypassed.
I use values between 22µ~100µF. Are the 22-100uf electrolytics? I was using Poly caps non-polar |
