Default Harman Kardon HK770 vs AVR254

This is probably a dumb question.
I had HK770 powering my desktops for a couple of years and liked it.
Mine went missing.
I have a Harman Kardon AVR254 sitting here. It was quite expensive and has digital inputs that I could find useful.
Is it remotely possible that I will encounter the same linearity and transparency that the HK770 provided? If not I will sell this and find an HK770
Thanks
