Thats right. you can allways do that, but it would be a shame with brand new boards, and it doesnt look good either. I will just have to get some other kind of resistors.
At least others will now know not to go for Dale with this board.

If memory serves me right, the max lead diameter for all (unless 1W or more) resistors are 0.55mm.

RN60 series are 0,5w and the leads are too thick for the boards

TE Connectivity LR1 Series is the only 0.6W resistor that i have found on RS that have lead diameter that fits.

I have been using thin film Vishay MBA0204, MBB0207, MBE0414, I do not think you are going to find any better for what they are asking for them.

It's only the 0.4W 0204 that will fit. 0207 have lead diameter 0.6mm. so 0.05mm too big. As all other vishay 0.6W resistors.

If the holes are that small they can't be designed for resistors of more than 250mW or they made a design mistake imo.
MBA0204 are 25ppm parts, what power are those resistors dissipating?
LR1 are okay too, I have used them too. I also use SFR16S, they have thin leads too and are spec'd at 500mW
Is there a BOM, what did they specify to begin with?

The boards are designed for 0.25W resistors.
I used LR1 0.6W in my build.

Good then, you have a solution to the smaller than normal hole issue.

LR1 are the ones I orderet, and a few values of KOA resistors, since for some reason the LR1 are damn expensive in small values like 33 and 68 ohm

I used to use MRS25 Philips/Vishay, but they are hard to find now.

My old carbon film are about 0.57mm, new metal film 0.55 or 0.6, some cheap chinese metal film 0.4mm, and Eagle 0207/10 pads are 0.80mm across, ie about 0.78mm hole diameter allowing for thru-plating.

I was talking about max diameter the PCB can handle.

0.8mm is more what it should be, loose lead fit is needed to keep automated board stuffers happy, wonder where the 0.55mm resistor holes came from? That's about right for the cheapo chinese metal films, incidentally, with their skinny 0.4mm leads.

It's a pity and frustrating that many amp designers on the diyAudio site go to great lengths to design fantastic amplifiers and then design a PCB that doesn't accommodate quality components e.g. the non magnetic type resistors from Vishay (RN & CMF Series), Takmann, PRP etc don't fit on most PCBs from this site.
