Default Require correct substitute for B512

Hallo Everybody,

I am trying to repair my Superscope quad amp. Two of the output transistors need to be replaced. These are B512 type. I have not been able to find these with the local suppliers here and shall be glad if somebody can advise on suitable substitutes.

Regards

If they are TO-220 packaged 2SB512, then there's a whole lot of modern devices that would work - TIP41C would probably be adequate.

Thanks for the info.

They are TO-220 packaged devices. The amp is a SuperScope QA450. I found that the Marantz 2215B receiver has a very similar circuit and PCB layout with some variations. Anybody here has a copy of the service manual for the QA450?

Regards,

Should be TIP42C - 2sb512 is PNP. And they would work fine.
