Default HK6350 tuning ?

Hi
I recently got me a HK6350R amp in good shape and fully working order.
It sounds sweet with CD or Tuner but somehow a bit underwhelming with
phono as source. I checked the MC-Input and the MM-Input with Step-Up.
(cart DV23RS/II,step-up DV6X).
Probably i can better it by changing the lytics with better ones and also
remove all parts inside the boxes with (G),(GB) on it.
Click the image to open in full size.

Am i on the right track here ? Advise is very welcome. Thanks.

Its the electrolytics that age.
Can have as little as specced 1000 hours lifespan.

Yes well,that much i figured.
The thing is ,as i mentioned, the parts in the boxes on the
schematics. I just wanna ask if they possibly influence the
sound and can i safely remove them.
I have the german model of the amp (G,BG) and compared to
the US-Model additional components are placed everywhere.
Especially in the phonoeq.
Im not a experienced DIYer and thats the reason why i seek
advise here.

I have already pointed to the most likely culprit.
Electronic components like diodes, transistors etc dont wear out.

The link is broken to your schematic.

My answer is still the same, swap out electrolytics and test it again.

If it still doesnt sound right then there must be a fault or a design fault.

Well,in addition i think i can get safely rid of
all those inductances, resitors and caps that
were added in the german model (named G,BG)
and change the resistors before the input FET
to the original values.
All those parts in the signal path cant be healthy.

I realy dont think there is a design fault in the
original design which is the US-Version.
