Default NEED A 600W@4E AMP .............WHICH TO START WITH

Hi,
I was in a need of of a stereo amp 600W + 600W@4E amp for my little pa purpose........
I need to build such a amp for my frnd as he needs it badly.....
I have searched the forum and found a few ...... but i am confused which one to start with .....
1. Apex B500
2. Legend MK2
3. Dirty harry......
4. Amps from quasi ARCK 600....
5. some unnamed amps....
6. some qsc schematics .........
I have to make it there is no option of buying the amp or going to class D as class D is currently out of my capability range......and i dont wanna buy a amp just cause its gonna be cheap........ I wanna do it here and make the best of what we have in the forum............i just a simple powerfull amp with good sonics ..........do add in ur suggestions............as i may have left out many choices......

I wanna make a good pa amp and share it with every one and may be i will even do the smps for the amp if every thing falls right in place....

Some schematics...............

sekhar

Build the APEX.
You get fairly good support of Mr Apexaudio himself.

Hi Sekhar.
I have build and used APEX B500, Quasi nmos350, Legend stage master, all 3 sound good.
B500 is excellent for subs, nice power and gain even without mixete or active crossover.
Quasi and Legend, they sound excellent in live performance parties with instruments, nice mids.
Regards

Yes, protections. Since you said PA that is not an option. So, which protections you are including?

all sort of protections say .......
1. over temperature
2. output shortcircuit
3. dc detect
4. input limiter
5. clipping detector
6. over current detector....
every thing that needs to keep a PA amp alive and kicking for yrs of service..........
i would like to make a one time investment.............. and make the best that is possible...

changes to the the b500 schematic............

1. added a regulated supply for the opamp.........no need for big heated resistors.....
2. added a darlington configuration for the o/p so that it can drive many o/p transistor........

other wise the circuit is same ..............

further amendments to the circuits planned are....

1. add a VI limiter......
2. add a step driver ..... if only i can do it...........

comments r welcomed.......

regards
sekhar
