Wasnt it the early 80's when people went MOSFET crazy?
My options that I am considering:

VSP Labs Transmos 150 watts per channel,,1983
Perraux 2500 B....270 watts per ch...vintage 1983
these two were reviewed by stereo Review then

Sansui BA-2000
Van Alstine 250 Omega III,,,,based on a Hafler 220 (125 watts per side)
Dynaco Stereo 400...20o watts per side.

PS Audio PS 200C...also reviewed by Stereo something...

The pre amp will be a McIntosh C26,,,Rega Planet CDP, and speakers..maybe Signet, Meadowlark, Platinum Audio Duos...not sure yet.

If you come across a PS Audio 200c and don't want it, I'd probably be interested. With a little sprucing up it could become a very very good amp. As far as the power supply goes, it's supposed to have the goods.

I did a cap upgrade to a Dynaco 416 years ago and cleaned up the output some and it beat out a Nakamichi PA-7 playing into a KEF system.

Can't say much about the other amps, might be ok. I dunno, I'd be of the mind to go with the one with the best power supply. You don't have that, you got nuttin'. Any of the older ones could probably use a "rebuild" if you wanted to get serious.

If your present system is so magic, why the need to change?
