Default Delay Amp power up using a relay.

Newbie learning here.
After months of reading lots of useful information I'm finally doing my first post.

I have a setup like the following:
Preamp -> DSP -> Power Amp
When turning on I'm getting a loud pop from the DSP and another when turning off from the preamp. One of the turn on pops already destroyed a tweeter so I'm trying to delay powering up the amp using a micro controller and relay circuit.
I already built a test circuit based on this with a 12V 3 amp relay but think that the relay wouldn't handle the amp load.

My question is what kind of relay should I get and where could I get it?
Here is what I have:
Thanks in advance

The Loudspeaker Protection http://www.nabucoeletronica.com.br/d...-schematic.pdf described in this website www-dot-dx-dot-kinghost-dot-net works pretty fine, connecting speakers only after a few seconds since the amplifier has been turned on. And also disconnects speakers immediately after amplifier has been turned off.

Thanks for the quick replies SMART21 and ANDREWT.
I was hoping to do the relay at the dc stage of the amp board but after reading the pages you pointed it seems that it should be done at the speaker level.
What disadvantage would I get by having the relay before the amp DC input?
