Default nad 3020 volume control

This maybe a seem like a stupid question but can i put a 20k alps rk27 in there in place of the original only asking as the original is a kb pot and the alps is a ka.

The original pot has a linear track whereas the Alps is an audio taper or logarithmic track. The only difference you will notice is that you will have to turn it up to a higher setting than you currently do and the new pot might be a bit 'endy'. The other thing is that you will not be able to connect the 40% tap on the existing pot which is used for the loudness control, hence it will no longer function.

Why do you want to change it the Alps pot is not going to improve the sound quality, is the old pot knackered ?

yep the old pots had it, what do you mean a bit 'endy'

The volume increases dramatically at one end of the pot without much rotation.
