Bought a non-workng MA-6100 and so far found the issues to be a defective on-off switch and driver transistor Q411. Fixed the switch and plan to replace all drivers with ON semi MJE243G and 253G. Are these correct (?)
Second..both early and later service manuals indicate tantalums for some of the 10 and 100uf board caps, but my boards have mostly Nichicon with the 470/4v at 100uf and C419-420 10/35v as a bipolar 10/40v in bright orange vs an electrolytic. Should these and others be changed to that spec'd in the SM (tantalums, 470uf and a 10 lytic), leave them alone, or replace with the Nichicon FG/KG series? Third...what is an acceptable/typical offset for the 6100? |

If the caps are still working I wouldn't change them.
